Staff Selection Commission (SSC) holds the SSC CGL (Combined Graduate Level) Exam for the appointment of Grade “B” and “C” category posts at various Government establishments, Ministries, Departments, and Offices.
SSC Combined Graduate Level exam is a two-tier system exam system (as per SSC CGL Exam notification 2023), both tier I and tier II are computer-based exams, The entire process of registration and communication will be online through the official website of SSC CGL. 1. Citizenship: The candidate must be a citizen of India.

Essential Educational Qualifications
(As on 01-08-2023):
Assistant Audit Officer/Assistant Accounts Officer:
- Essential Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized University or Institute.
- Desirable Qualifications: Chartered Accountant or Cost & Management Accountant or Company Secretary or Masters in Commerce or Masters in Business Studies or Masters in Business Administration (Finance) or Masters in Business Economics.
- During the period of probation direct recruits shall have to qualify the “Subordinate Audit/ Accounts Service Examination” in respective branches for confirmation and regular appointment as Assistant Audit Officer/Assistant Accounts Officer
Junior Statistical Officer:
- Bachelor’s Degree in any subject from a recognized University or Institute with at least 60% Marks in Mathematics at 12th standard level.
Or
Bachelor’s Degree in any subject with Statistics as one of the subjects at the degree level
All other Posts:
- Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized University or equivalent.
- The candidates who have appeared in their final year of their graduation can also apply, however they must possess Essential qualification on or before the cut-off date i.e. 08-10-2022.
Note- All the candidates who are called for documents verification will be required to produce the relevant Certificates such as Mark sheets for all years/semesters of Graduation/ Provisional Certificate/ Degree of Graduation in original as proof of having acquired the minimum educational qualification on or before the cut-off date, failing which the candidature of such candidates will be cancelled by the Commission.

SSC CGL Exam Process
Based on the marks scored in Tier-I i.e. Computer Based Examination, candidates will be shortlisted, category-wise, to appear in Tier-II Examination. Separate cut-offs will be fixed for Paper-II of Tier-II (i.e. for the post of Junior Statistical Officer), Paper-III of Tier-II (i.e. for the posts of Assistant Audit Officer and Assistant Accounts Officer) and for Paper-I of Tier-II (i.e. for all other posts).
Tier-II Examination will be conducted for all the candidates qualified in Tier-I. In Tier-II, all the candidates will be required to appear in all three sections of Paper-I. However, only those candidates shortlisted for the posts of Junior Statistical Officer and Assistant Audit Officer/ Assistant Accounts Officer will be required to appear in Paper-II and Paper-III respectively.
SSC CGL minimum qualifying marks
Minimum qualifying marks in Tier-I, Section-I, Section-II & Module-I of Section-III of Paper-I of Tier-II, Paper-II & Paper-III of Tier-II Examination are as follows:
UR : 30%
OBC/ EWS : 25%
All other categories : 20%
Maximum percentage of errors allowed (i.e. minimum qualifying standards) in Module-II of Section-III of Paper-I of Tier-II Examination i.e. DEST are as follows:
UR : 20%
OBC/ EWS : 25%
All other categories : 30%
SSC CGL 2023 Application Fee
- The required application fee is Rs. 100/-
- Exemption: No fee is required to be paid by female, SC, ST, Physically Handicapped, and Ex-Servicemen candidates
- Applications fee should be paid only through SBI either in the form of challan or through SBI Net Banking or any other bank Credit/Debit Card. Challan form will be generated online
- To pay a fee in cash, the candidate should take the printout of challan generated online after the completion of Part-1 registration. Deposit the requisite fee in any branch of SBI and then continue with the Part-2 registration
- Those candidates who want to pay online can go directly to part-2 registration after completion of part-1 registration. Candidate must supply registration number and date of birth to continue to Part-2 registration

SSC CGL Eligibility Criteria of Ex-Servicemen for Reservation Advantages under ESM Category
- Under the Central Government group “C” and “D”, if the ex-servicemen have already received the reservation benefits for re-employment in civilian jobs, are not capable of ESM Category reservation. They will be eligible for this specific reservation only when they will need to submit the self-declaration to the concerned employer and should provide all the necessary details of prior job applications in civil employment.
- If you want to enjoy the benefits of the reservation being an ex-serviceman, then they need to acquire the ex-serviceman status or they should do it within thin a year of the last application receipt. SSC CGL Eligibility 2023: Physical Fitness Requirements
To appear the SSC CGL Exam, the aspirants require to have the specified physical standards before the final round of selection.
Physical Standards for the Inspector (Central Excise/ Examiner/Preventive officer)
