IBPS PO salary comprises of the following allowances: 

IBPS PO Salary – House Rent Allowance (HRA)

The HRA depends on the city of posting:

  • Class 1 Cities: 9% of basic pay
  • Other Cities: 8% of basic pay

This allowance helps POs cover their accommodation expenses.

IBPS PO Salary – Dearness Allowance (DA)

The DA is a cost-of-living adjustment allowance, calculated as a percentage of the basic pay, and is revised quarterly based on inflation.

IBPS PO Salary – Special Allowance (SA)

The Special Allowance varies by bank and is added to the salary to compensate for additional job responsibilities and skills. In the 9th Joining note it is that 26.50% of the basic pay will be given as Special Allowance in IBPS PO Salary.

IBPS PO Salary – City Compensatory Allowance (CCA)

The CCA is paid to compensate for the higher cost of living in metropolitan cities and is applicable only if the PO is posted in such cities. IBPS PO salary is added with CCA of Rs. 2300 in Area 1 Cites and Rs. 1900 in other Cities.

An officer on transfer will be eligible to draw a lumpsum amount for expenses related to packing, local transportation, insuring the baggage etc.

IBPS PO are reimbursed a fixed Medical Aid allowance as per the Scale in which they are working, which is given below:

Eye Check-up allowance:

 All employees shall be allowed reimbursement of ₹500/- per year towards annual eye check-up

Recovery of House/Furniture Rent:

  • House rent recovery shall be @ 0.35 % of the first stage of the scale of pay in which the officer is placed or the standard rent for the accommodation, whichever is less.
  • Furniture rent recovery shall be @ 0.075% of the first stage of the scale of pay in which the officer is placed.

Officiating Pay:

An IBPS PO, who is officiating in a higher scale post for a minimum 4 days at a time or an aggregate of 4 days during the calendar month, shall receive an officiating pay equal to 15% of his basic pay on pro rata basis for the period for which he officiates. 

Closing Allowance:

Closing allowance is paid at a rate of ₹1500/- per quarter payable to officers.

Mid Academic Year Transfer Allowance:

Mid academic year transfer allowances shall be payable at ₹2500/- p.m. per child with a maximum up to 2 children.

Leave Travel Concession (LTC):

During each block of 4 years, an officer shall be eligible for leave travel concession for travel to his place of domicile once in each block of two years. Alternatively, he may travel in one block of two years to his place of domicile and in another block of two years to any place in India by the shortest route.
