TSPSC Exam pattern and Syllabus 2022

Group IV exams are conducted by the Telangana State Public Service Commission (TSPSC) which is an organization under the Telangana government to recruit various posts in Telangana for Group 4. Aspirants who are enthusiastic to write the TSPSC Group IV exam have to know the scheme of the exam along with the TSPSC Group 4 syllabus and exam pattern. Here we have given you a detailed analysis of the syllabus for group 4 as well as the exam pattern of group IV exams. TSPSC Group 4 Exam Pattern

Unlike Group 3 and group 2 exams, this group 4 exam is conducted in two papers of having 150 question that is held for 150 marks and conducted for 150 minutes. The exam syllabus papers are given below:

Paper 1 – General Knowledge

Paper 2 – Secretarial Abilities

So, from the above exam pattern we can see that the exam pattern for group 4 is different from exam pattern of group 3. Aspirants who are preparing for TSPSC exams either by take groups coaching or on self preparation have to clearly distinguish the weight age of questions for each section. Most of the students will be writing both the exams, so they have to know the exam pattern and syllabus before hand and start their preparation.

TSPSC Group IV Syllabus

Now coming to the TSPSC Group 4 syllabus, as per the exam pattern, each paper in the exam has its own syllabus that has to be studied in depth in order to succeed in group 4 exam.  Candidates have to go though the official notification that is published in TSPSC web site in order to get the accurate date. The general syllabus that is recommended as per the group 4 notification is given below for your easy reference:



  1. Current affairs.
  2. International Relations and Events.
  3. General Science in everyday life.
  4. Environmental Issues and Disaster Management.
  5. Geography and Economy of India and Telangana.
  6. Indian Constitution : Salient Features.
  7. Indian Political System and Government.
  8. Modern Indian History with a focus on Indian National Movement.
  9. History of Telangana and Telangana Movement.
  10. Society, Culture, Heritage, Arts and Literature of Telangana.
  11. Policies of Telangana State.


  1. Mental Ability. (Verbal and non-verbal)
  2. Logical Reasoning.
  3. Comprehension.
  4. Re-arrangement of sentences with a view to improving analysis of a passage.
  5. Numerical and Arithmetical abilities.

This syllabus is the general overview of the questions that will be asked in the exam. Although I looks very small as compared to Group 3 exam, if we carefully observe the syllabus for group 4 almost covers the same syllabus of group 3. The only difference is the slight depth in syllabus, where as the topics that have to be covered remains same. In group 3 notification, the syllabus is given in a detailed manner while in official notification of group 4 the synopsis over view of the syllabus is given. The number of papers and questions asked in group 3 is more while the number of questions asked in group 4 exams is less, thereby making the syllabus confined to limited areas.
