## SSC CGL Tier 1 Syllabus

SSC CGL Tier 1 is an Online mode of examination comprising 100 questions with a maximum mark of 200. All the questions will be of objective type. SSC CGL Tier I is divided into four sections with 25 questions each and a maximum mark of 50 in each section. The sections asked in SSC CGL Tier I Exam are:

### Quantitative Aptitude Syllabus for SSC CGL Tier 1

Quantitative Aptitude questions will be designed to test the ability to appropriately use of numbers and number sense of the candidate. The scope of the test will be the computation of whole numbers, decimals fractions, and relationships between numbers. The questions would also be based on arithmetical concepts and relationships between numbers and not on complicated arithmetical computation.

Aptitude Syllabus:

Number System, Ratio & Proportion, Averages, Partnership, Ages, Square roots, Simplifications, Percentage, Simple and Compound Interest, Profit and Loss, Discount, Mixture and Allegation, Time and distance, Time & Work, Mensuration, Data Interpretation.

### General Intelligence and Reasoning Syllabus for Tier 1

This is considered as one of the most scoring sections in SSC CGL. General Intelligence and Reasoning includes questions of both verbal and non-verbal type. Let us understand in detail the SSC CGL syllabus of General Intelligence and Reasoning.

#### Verbal Reasoning

Analogy, Classification, Number Test, Number Series, Figural Series, Problem Solving, Word Building, Coding & de-coding, Direction and Distance, Blood Relations, Venn Diagrams, Sitting Arrangement, Syllogism, Matrix, Clocks, and Calendars, Symbol Notations

#### Non-Verbal Reasoning

This section measures Candidates’ ability to understand correct English, basic comprehension and writing ability, etc. would be tested. SSC CGL Tier 1 English section may include questions on the following:

One word Substitution, Sentence Correction, Error Spotting Phrases and Idioms, Fill in the Blanks, Reading Comprehension, Spellings Correction, Synonyms-Antonyms, Active Passive, Sentence Rearrangement, Sentence Improvement, Cloze test etc.

### General Awareness Syllabus for SSC CGL

The General Awareness section tests the candidate’s awareness regarding the world around him. The test will also include questions relating to India and also its neighboring countries. The sections asked in SSC CGL Tier I Exam are:
